Zülfü Livaneli will take part in “The Burden of Hope,” a special event to be held on 4 October 2026 as part of FALL 2026 – Festival of Arts, Literature & Learning in Prague.
Hosted by the DOX Centre for Contemporary Art, the event will take place on the eve of Václav Havel’s 90th birthday and will explore the possibilities of hope in today’s world, as well as the continuing relevance of Havel’s intellectual legacy, through the perspectives of writers, artists and human rights advocates from different countries.
Livaneli will be joined on the panel by Ukrainian writer Oksana Zabuzhko, Belarusian lawyer, writer and former political prisoner Maxim Znak, and Irish human rights advocate Bill Shipsey. The discussion will be moderated by Iranian theatre director, actress and dramaturg Azadeh Kangarani.
Bringing together literature, art, human rights and the idea of freedom on a shared platform, “The Burden of Hope” will take place at 6:00 PM on Sunday, 4 October 2026, aboard the Gulliver Airship, one of the DOX Centre for Contemporary Art’s most iconic spaces. The one-hour event will be held in English, with interpretation into several languages available to participants.
FALL 2026 – Festival of Arts, Literature & Learning is an international arts and literature festival organised by the DOX Centre for Contemporary Art in Prague.
