Aşina — A Tribute to Zülfü Livaneli at the Konzerthaus Berlin

Zülfü Livaneli takes the stage at the Konzerthaus Berlin's Großer Saal, on the historic Gendarmenmarkt, on Tuesday, 15 September 2026, at 7 p.m. Presented as part of the “Aşina” concert series, the evening is a tribute to an artist who has shaped Turkish culture for six decades as a writer, composer, singer and filmmaker.

The programme pairs the Rumi Suite — an homage to the teachings of the Sufi mystic Rumi — with Livaneli's internationally celebrated songs. Appearing as composer and narrator, Livaneli is joined by musical director and pianist Henning Schmiedt, ney player Burcu Karadağ, vocalists Romy Camerun and Özlem Bulut, saxophonist Volker Holly Schlott, percussionist Uli Moritz and double bassist Giacomo Tagliavia, with German actress Martina Gedeck as speaker.

Taking its name from the Persian-rooted word for “what is familiar to us, even if we do not know it fully,” the Aşina series seeks to unite audiences through shared emotion rather than cultural boundaries. Tickets are available through Eventim.
